Vienna-based refurbed, an online marketplace for refurbished products, has secured €50M in its latest funding round. However, the founders didn’t disclose the names of the investors.
The funding comes at a time when the Austrian company reached €2B in GMV (Gross Merchandise Value) and achieved profitability in June, says the founders.
The announcement comes around two years after raising €54M in a Series C round of funding.

Founded in 2017 by Peter Windischhofer, Kilian Kaminski and Jürgen Riedl, refurbed was born out of the founders’ desire to reduce electronic waste and remake consumption for the better.
“Many people are unaware of how environmentally damaging new electronic devices are. Production generates vast amounts of CO₂ emissions, consumes valuable resources, and ultimately, only problematic electronic waste remains, which requires complex disposal,” says the company.
The business model gives products a second life, helping to save significant amounts of CO₂, water and other resources.
The platform offers over 18,000 fully refurbished electronic devices, including smartphones, laptops, and tablets, with a minimum 12-month warranty.
The company currently operates in 11 European markets, including Germany, Austria, Sweden, Italy, Ireland, the Netherlands and Denmark, and recently expanded into Belgium, Finland, Portugal and the Czech Republic.
With a mission to “rethink new,” refurbed offers customers access to high-quality, renewed goods that cost up to 40 per cent less than new equivalents.
All items come with at least a 12-month warranty and a 30-day return policy, reflecting the company’s commitment to customer experience and sustainability.
